A Georgian Mystery Trail

We have devised a unique Georgian Trail exclusive to York Pass holders, taking in the city’s favourite attractions.  Clues are hidden inside six attractions (free entry with a York Pass) with the rest outside famous city landmarks.  "In Georgian times, York was the playground of the aristocracy, enjoying society gatherings at the Assembly Rooms and Mansion House.  Magnificent buildings like Fairfax House and the Judge’s Lodgings were constructed for these wealthy classes, and significant prestige was to be gained from being favourably mentioned in the local press ‘society’ columns.”

However, in the age of Georgian extravagance, the best stories were reserved for gossip, with everything from gambling debts to illicit liaisons whispered as lords and ladies alike strolled along York’s riverside pleasure garden or gathered in the city’s coffee shops or at the races.  Unlocking the secrets of a (fictional) socialite provides the storyline for the Georgian Trail.
