Description

Treasurer's House is not as it appears

Treasurer’s House is not as it appears. At one time divided into three houses, in the late 1900s a wealthy industrialist called Frank Green created his version of a historic house to showcase his collection of art and antiques. See both sides of the story as he demolished parts of the house not to his liking, yet transformed a house of declining fortunes into a handsome property with lavish interiors. Join a free house tour on elected days, plus the Below Stairs Cafe and the lovely front garden are always free to enter. Treasurer's House is home to one of York's most famous ghost stories. Visitors to the house are welcome to make a stop in the exhibition room to find out a little more about York’s most famous ghost story.
