The Regimental Museum of The Royal Dragoon Guards and The Yorkshire Regiment

Explore over 300 years of military history at the York Army Museum! Newly-refurbished, our museum tells the story of two serving regiments of the British Army: The Royal Dragoon Guards and The Yorkshire Regiment. The Yorkshire regiment was formed in 2006 from the amalgamation of The Prince of Wales’s Own Regiment of Yorkshire, The Green Howards and The Duke of Wellington’s Regiment. Exhibitions 2017: Military Menagerie - discover animals in the army (January– August); Behind the Lines - find out about camp followers and explore life on the Home Front (from September 2017 onwards). Get to grips with history with weapons handling, museum treasure trails, dressing-up and lots of other fun family activities!
