Step inside the oldest residence for a Lord Mayor in the entire country and uncover the tales of the infamous residents of years gone by. Filled with scandal, decadence, and outlandish feasting you can explore four floors of this remarkable building. Built in 1725 in the heart of the St Helen’s Square, York Mansion House has become a must-see museum since opening its doors in 2018.
There is something for all ages… you can marvel at the gold and silver collection, dance in the grand State Room like previous royalty, and discover 18th Century cuisine in the kitchen below stairs during a cooking demonstration. The stunning space is also host to regular events throughout the year and children’s trails for our little Lords and Ladies.
